A Series of Unfortunate Events - The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket

Summary: Three Baudelaire children; Violet, Klaus and Sunny loose their parents by an unfortunate fire accident.  

They got adopted to Count Olaf, who’s a far related family. Count Olaf was a greedy man who was only concerned about Violet’s money and had an awful plan to take away. The children tried to send Count Olaf to the police office but unfortunately... he escaped. This is what happened in the last book.

In this story, three Baudelaire children got adopted to Mr. Montgomery. He was such a nice man who took care of Baudelaire children well. But one day, his new assistant, Stephano came to his house. The children noticed at once that Stephano is Count Olaf. The children were in panic. They tried to tell Montgomery but he didn’t believe what they were saying. One day, in the morning, children got up and went to the reptile room(library) and saw something terrible. They saw the corpse of Montgomery! It was sure that Count Olaf had kill him. But how can they prove it?

My Opinion and reasons: I really enjoyed reading this book because it was really interesting how children solved the mystery. Their evidences are really surprising so that I couldn't stop reading it. I highly recommend it to you.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone By J.K.Rowling

My Summary:

Harry Potter is an average bespectacled 11 year old boy who has lived with the Dursley family ever since his parents died in a car crash. For some reason the family has always mistreated him. On his 11th birthday a giant man named Hagrid hands him a letter telling him that he has been accepted as a student at the Hogwarts School. Harry learns that his parents were wizards and were killed by an evil wizard Voldemort, a truth that was hidden from him all these years. He starts for his new life as a student in the school of Hogwarts

My Opinion and reasons:

My opinion is that this book is very fun for everybody because it is packed with adventures of a boy who starts learning about his background.

My Rating/Recommendation:

I rate this book a 4.9/5. I recommend this series to people who like adventurous and fantasy series. If you do not want to read there is movie series and that is even very good and interesting.

Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl

My Summary: Charlie, the boy who was the winner of the chocolate factory. (In ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’). This story flows after Charlie win the test. Charlie, rode a Great Glass Elevator and experienced ridiculous thing. He saw a Space hotel called “U.S.A”. Charlie and his party went inside to the hotel. Unfortunately, they encountered monster. Guess what happened to them? After they traveled in space, they rushed through the chocolate factory. And, Mr. Wonka introduced his mysterious, unusual bottle to Charlie and his party. Inside the bottle, there was pills. It’s called “Wonka-vite. He explained the directions to Charlie’s grandparents. If we eat 1 pil, it will took them back to 20 years ago. Finally, they ate it.         

My Opinion and reasons: In my opinion, this book is really energetic and, cool. The reason why I think that way is because, author used word/ feeling that describe how characters fell into the trouble or how characters acting, feeling. The effect of great description in this book make readers follow the book.

   

My Rating/Recommendation: I recommend this book to someone who loves to read fantasy and mysterious story.

My Summary:There was a boy who lived with his mother,father and his sister his name is August but also his nickname was Oggy but his face was different from other people.So when August was young he didn’t went to school but Oggy’s mother decided to send him to the school.But when Oggy was going to the school one boy said a bad thing to him and many of them bullied him like they said if you play or touch Oggy you will get virus but one girl called Summer became a friends with him......

My Opinion and reasons:I think this book is really fun and if we read once we couldn’t stop reading this book there are other series of this book also there are other points of view so we can learn what was Oggy’s thinking what was Summer’s thinking.   

My Rating/Recommendation:I would grade this book as 5/5stars! Because what I said in ‘My opinion’ We can’t stop reading this book also I liked that there are many different point of view this book is really written well.

Matilda By Roald Dahl

A little girl, Matilda Woodworm, with 1 MEAN brother, 2 LYING and UNGRATEFUL parents, 1 wonderful and admirable teacher, and 1 BOSSY SNOT head mistress. Everyone thinks that she is a young, DUMB, good-for-nothing girl that the only thing that she likes is a manufactured tree and leather. But no… She is only passionate for what she likes. She has a lot to say for all the people that ever told her wrong.

This book has taught me a lot about friendship, the truth, and courage. Not only can you have a relationship with people your age, but with people older than you. The courage from all the characters and how they stood up against the people that wronged then. And the truth, because Mr. Woodworm lied to his customers and got back Karma. Not only these reasons, but the true fact of what the world should be like. And the magic that you don’t actually know that is happening around you. You don’t need money to make you happy, you need the people that stand by you in your darkest times, and who look out for you. The thing that people need to know instead of just quitting is, anything is possible, if you put your mind to it.

I recommend this book to everyone and that is because it can grow on everyone. It definitely grew on me and how it can change how you act and look at the world. This book made me see and think, “Reading is not only knowledge, but reading is power as well.” And I know that as a fact. I would give this book a 4.8 out of 5.

A Nest for Celeste by Henry Cole

This book is about a mouse called Celeste, who is very good at making baskets with dried grass. Then one day, two rats command her to bring food. When she goes near the dining table, she encounters a cat and runs away. Then she meets a boy called Joseph, who is a apprentice of an artist named Audubon. Later, she helps animals to pose, so that the Audubon will draw pictures of them without killing them. Will Celeste save the animals?

I like this book because it has interesting solutions to problems that Celeste face, which made me not get bored while reading.

I give 4 out of 5 stars for this book and I recommend it to animal lovers because this book is about a mouse trying to save animals from being killed for an artwork.

My Summary: This book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen She has a sister named Primrose and a mother. Her father was killed while working in a mine because of a bomb. There are 12 districts, the 12th is the poorest district, but the capital is the ruler of panema (All of the districts). There is one president named Snow. The hunger games is where people are chosen from a bowl . Effie Trinket chooses one boy and one girl from each district to fight to the death. But Katniss wants to stop the hunger games.

My Opinion and reasons: My opinion about this book is that it has a lot of action. It can sometimes be an emotional book, and rarely has any humour which I like because sometimes it can get a bit boring and most of the time I would l like something Interesting to happen.

My Rating/Recommendation: I recommend this to people who like action and drama kind of books. I rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

This is a book about a boy in a holiday! And then he goes to a fight with his best friend and just routines his own times!

But before when they were friends, he used to go to this place where there were many activities! But then after his best friend goes away, he comes to a point where he can’t go in, so that is when the problem starts......

I think this book is good for the people who have siblings. Because this book is about a horrible life of a boy who has a brother!

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars because I totally agree with the main character and is also there is a good text to the world who has problems with siblings.

My Summary: I learned about that NUCLEAR and energy.nuclear has a most power in kind of energy. I learned kind of energy(kind of atom,Fuel for nuclear energy,nuclear power,good and bad thing about the nuclear energy.) that has a step like Introduction->step 1,2,3(like that) at beginning steps, I learned about atom, who discover atom,.... and at middle and last steps, I learned how to nuclear make fuel, how to nuclear works. If you want to know more, read and find out.

My Opinion and reasons: I think about this book is very fun, but If you don’t like science, It will not be very fun.

My Rating/Recommendation: I recommend to people who like science because this book is very detailed.

A boy did not have friend. Freddy decide I go in the school play in theater. He asked the teacher theater  and she say that it’s just grade 5th and 6. The teacher say that  can go see theater teacher. Finally Freddy is in the play. He work à lot to be the green kangaroo.The come for Freddy to do the big play. The green kangaroo is a  very good play!!!!

I like this book because here is many detail and I can understand…

My Summary:

The boy didn’t have a friend so he want to play with brother and  sister but there have a friend.At school Freddy ask to go to the play. Then Freddy went to the theater on the stage and then performed the play!!!

I like this story because boy try to play so that is very interesting.

friends need to escape. Thomas wakes up in the middle of no

where and tries to figure out where they are. Most of his friends

from the maze are still there. He realizes that he has friends and enemies. Can Thomas and his friends escape

the Scorch or will they get the flare ( a disease)?

I enjoyed this book because it had similarities with the first book.

This book had a plot that did not build in the beginning but then it

started building up more and more until it finally reached it’s climax.

Before reading this book you might want to read the first book the Maze Runner. I give this a 4.2 rating because it had a brilliant plot that helped the reader understand the book.

Divergent by Veronica Roth

This book is about a girl, Beatrice Prior, who has to choose a faction to live in. There are 5 factions: Erudite, Candor, Abnegation, Amity and Dauntless . The aptitude test will give her the most probable factions where she won’t be factionless after initiation. But Beatrice’s test gives a different result and she will have to choose all on her own. Will she choose Abnegation, which is where she comes from or one of the other factions? It’s up to her to choose...

I liked this book because it had a lot of suspense and it was very intriguing. What I liked also was the fact that you always wanted to continue it. I had sort of guess which faction she chose when I saw the cover. But if I read this book, it’s because I had started to see the movie but I didn’t finish it so I was wondering what could happen.

I rate this book 4.5 stars because I really liked the suspense and adventurous part but there was parts that were less intriguing and that I enjoyed less. But it is still a very good book and I recommend it to people who like suspense and adventure.

Midnight on the moon by Mary Pope Osborne

My Summary: Jack and Annie read another book and it was about the moon. Both of them go to moon and they try to found the ‘M’. They have only 2 hours of air tank. About 1 hour and 30 minutes later they found one moon man. He was coming to Annie and Jack so they felt strange. They started to run away. Annie fell down so Jack tried to help but moon man was their. Jack was kind of afraid but he gave him a message with a paper so the moon man draw the many stars. The answer was in the paper. The answer of ‘M’ was mouse.

My Opinion and reasons:

I think this book is good because it’s kind of interesting and some part it make use curious and exciting.

My Rating/Recommendation: I want to give 5 out of 3 because it’s very good book and it make use curious and exciting. It’s easy to visualize.

Wimpy Kid

My Summary: This is the story in that shows in diary that the main character who really thinks about himself, which I called “selfish”.

Greg, the main character, he always thinks too negative. Also he likes to be famous and love to being looking at. His best friend Rowley, is kinda stupid. He doesn’t know many things, so Greg make fun with him very easily. And Greg always let him does the hard things but actually Greg does the easy things. On Christmas, Rowley got a bike that is for babies. So Greg was thinking how to play with that, and he made a game that one person is riding the bike from high hill, and one person is trying to make the person fall who is riding bike with a ball. But Greg always be the one who throw the ball and Rowley always be the one who’s riding the bike. And Greg doesn’t let change the part. How’s it going to be? Read the book and find out!

My Opinion and reasons:

I think Greg is selfish because he never let Rowley to change the part and he throws the ball.

Geronimo Stilton is the character and the setting starts in his house. He has many troubles in this story so Cheesy Lou helps Geronimo Stilton. Cheesy Lou is a kind cowmouse and they figure out the problems that Geronimo has together. The most problem was that he always broke his bone. So he was having a Valentine’s Day so he ordered the cake. But the cake didn’t came so he went to take the cake with Cheesy Lou’s horse. He had arrived home safely with the cake but when he arrives home Trap (Geronimo’s cousin) breaks the cake. What will Geronimo do?
My Opinion and reasons:

The reason why I want to share this book to a party lover or a horse lover because if they read this book they can imagine the picture of some of the horse.This book tells some of the things that we can do in Valentine’s Day

My recommendation is five stars ★★★★★ because this book shares that what we can do in the Valentine’s Day and it is fun that it is like magic (READ to know)!

My Summary:One day there is a kid called Nathan and one day he went to get his things to the science lab and accidentally spilled the Pain-be-gone. And his friends try to cure him. Would he be cured or not?

My Opinion and reasons:

I think this book is good because the story is not confusing and It tells specifically or detailed story or sentence.

My Rating/Recommendation:I rate this book in ***/*****because I liked the story and the details but it is not my type.

My summary 

This story is about boy who is second grade is moving with trailer. His family has moved to neighborhood. There is girl who is annoying him all time. He really hate her. But when he hide she always try to find him at all time. Luckily his dad seems like dad also hate her so dad help and say He is busy, He is sleeping and dad also said Plain has gone already. He was kind of life saver. If you want to find out more READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book is a part of my all-time favourite series. The characters are all interesting and have ‘unique’ personalities. The book is very descriptive and very suspenseful.  I would rate this book 5 stars and I would recommend it to people that like unusual things.

Alice in Wonderland

My Summary:

This book is about a girl who falls in a world with talking animals. In the land of wonderland, there is a talking animal, talking cards, and all sort of weird powers. There is a queen that rule the land. It is a heart queen. She is cruel and tries to kill alice who accidentally fell to the world.

My Opinion and reasons:

I think instead of other innocent people, heart queen should go to the jail. Because heart queen is very evil enough to kill every people who disobeys her.

My Rating/Recommendation:

I recommend this book to fantasy lovers. My rate is 3/5. Because the main idea isn’t clear to me.

My Summary: So the story begins in the small town of the England. There are total 2 main character ( Fighting for Justice ) It’s digory and polly. They meet in the town and became friends. Then they were tired staying at home so they decided to go outside and adventure. First adventure was digory’s uncle’s house. But they never knew digory’s uncle was the magician.Then digory’s uncle trick them and make them go to weird world. When they went their, they met a queen. more like a witch. Then the witch troll them and make them obey her. She asked them to take her to their world.Because she wanted to rule their world. But digory and polly tried to escape from her but she eventually came to their world, the Earth. Then the small town of the England became so messy because of the witch. But by mistake, somehow the witch and digory’s member disappeared. What will happen to them??

My Opinion and reasons:

I think this book is really awesome!

There are special cats with wings in this book so this book is about loyalty of brothers,friendship with friends and love of family.  The main summary of this book is story about Selma, Roger, James, Herieot.  They kept moving without notice from people. The youngest cat, Jane and normal cat, Alexander met and did a lot of adventures. At the end they met Susan and Hank and then they lived together with good harmony.
My Opinion and reasons:

This book tells us that normal cat can be friends with special catwings.  Also we could know people can be friends with cats. So I found cat or people, special or normal all

equality.

My Summary: This book is about April Fools’ Day and one boy. His name is Hubie. He is naughty, so he pranks many people.

My Opinion and reasons: I like this book because it is very funny and we don’t know what Hubie is doing on April Fools’ Day.

My Rating/Recommendation: I give this book 5/5 stars because it is so funny book and easy to understand because many illustrations are in this book.
