(Book Review) RUNNER By, Patrick Lee

This is a book review about the book Runner by Patrick Lee. It is a fast paced action packed book that involves an 11 year old girl, an ex-elite soldier, his life and a group of elite soldiers gone bad. Sam Dryden will have to keep Rachel safe even if it costs his life. Here is page 6 of the book...

She stopped and faced him. Even in the faint light, Dryden could see that she was terrified of something. She regarded him with nothing but caution and kept herself balanced to sprint again, though she seemed too out of breath to go much further. She wore jeans and a T-shirt but no shoes or socks. Her hair - dark brown, hanging below her shoulders - was clean but uncombed. The girl could have not been more the twelve. For the briefest moment her eyes intensified; Dryden could see the calculation going on behind them.
Just like that, her defensive posture changed. She remained afraid but not of him. She turned her gaze inland instead,  back the way she'd come from, and scrutinized the darkness there. Dryden looked, too, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. The inland run of the board walk led to the harbor road, across which lay the dune ridge, shrouded in the thick night. All appeared calm and quiet.
"You live here" the girl asked.
"Who's after you?"
She turned to him again and moved closer.
"I need somewhere to hide," she said. u "I'll tell you everything, but please get me out of here first."
"I'll take you to the police station, kid, but I can't___"
N"Not the police" she said, so abruptly that DRyden felt an impulse to turn and continue his jog. Whatever the girl was in trouble for, caught up in it was not going to improve his night.

Tuck Everlasting

Tuck Everlasting
by:Jaehoon Jeong

Tuck Everlasting is the story of a girl named Winnie, whom she meets, the Tucks. The Tucks have a precious secret, they live forever. They drank water from the spring that was actually from the lake. Until the end of time, they will stay that way. Winnie falls in love with one of the Tucks, Jesse, a 17 year old boy who thinks the same as her. Fear of death, Winnie must decide whether or not to join them on their never ending journey. The Tucks try to teach her how she would not fear death, how they would give anything to die. I think this book teaches the importance of death and life. It shows that you should not fear death, but to fear never ending life.

I think choices is an important theme of this book. If I was her, I would make a choice that I would drink the water from the spring because I don’t have to fear to death, know more about the world and teach people how much life is important to you. I think life is very vital because it is one chance to do anything. You can use your body and go to amazing places and see amazing things. Life is once in a lifetime so if you don’t enjoy it, then you will have wasted the most brilliant thing on earth.

I really recommend this book to the people who thinks their life is unfortunate. How much their life is important and dream about living forever. For me, I really enjoyed this book very much. This book is excellently written and I can feel the characters’ emotions. Also, I feel like that I am in the book. However, I would rate this book very high. (19/20)

Insurgent Book Review by Veronica Roth

Insurgent by
Veronica Roth

Insurgent is the second book of Divergent. The Divergent Series is about 4 fractions. Amity, Abnegation, Dauntless, Condor and Erudite. Amity the peaceful, Abnegation, the selfless, Dauntless the brave and Erudite the intelligent. The main character in this book is Tris or Beatrice. Tris is a girl who lost her parents in the first attack of Erudite in Divergent. She is a refuge and fights to get freedom from the Erudite.
Tris is also in love with a Dauntless boy named Four or Tobias. She has a brother named Caleb Prior. They face problems to stop the Erudite.

I recommend this book to people who like dystopia and also to people like some action, with a little bit of romance. If you did not read the first book read Divergent which is the first book. If you already read this book try reading the next book of the series Allegiant.

Will they win? Will they lose?

Only you can find out!

Read the book in this link if you want.

Alice L.'s Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters Book Review

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters
By : Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is about a kind of summer camp for half god, half human kids. There used to be a barrier that protected the camp, until it got poisoned. Percy Jackson son of Poseidon goes against the will of the camp to try get a fleece that has the power to heel anything and everything. The bad news is no one has known where the Fleece is for centuries.

During this Fantasy adventure full of action Percy will nearly die just about a thousand times. If you like adventure, mysteries, fantasy, sword fighting against demons and maybe even Greek mythology, this might be the book that has been written for you.

One of the parts I LOVE in Percy Jackson is how sometimes he gets information that really makes no sense no matter what and at the end how he understands everything but then he gets more none sense.

"English please! "There will be no Amharic here. We speak a language all three of us understand,or we don't speak at all" She was definitely British. She had on of those boarding school accents that I could recognise anywhere-I had met enough of those girls. And she had just confirmed the men where speaking Amharic,so my initial hypothesis was proved correct : I had been kidnaped by greater than or equal to Ethiopian men - and one British woman.

I recommend this book to everybody that likes to read exciting books, and loves realistic fiction.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Move house book report by Futa

I read a book called " Move house " by Sean Topham

This book is about 1 middle school student moving to new school and having a lot of new things he haven't experienced before. I picked this book because this book seemed to be same thing that happened when I came to Chennai. In this book, the main character was really nervous going to new school and was asking so many questions to his parents. The same thing happened to me when I try to sleep, I can't sleep at night because I was to nervous about tomorrow's first day of school in Chennai and asking my dad everything that can happen. When I was reading this book, I reminded of that so many times.

The part I really love about this book is when the main character Steven is making new friend who is not capable of anything and getting teased. It is exactly the same thing happened to me. When I came here the first time, nobody cared for me but there was 1 guy who cared about me. He was really kind and fun and sweet. That time, I couldn't speak english but as I started to play with him, I started to learn english and understand what he is trying to say.I think this book author had same experience because he understand exactly how new student feels.

I hope my next book will be the book which have same experience that I had like this book because that can make my thinking go more and more deeper.

Diary of Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck

The Diary of a Wimpy written by a world famous author called Jeff Kinney.

This book is basically about how a kid about thirteen years old has trouble with his life in school. He was bullied told that he was not cool. HE also got jealous of his best friend Rowley because he was spending more time with his girlfriend than with him. So like his best friend he also tried to getting a girlfriend but failed epically every time. This book is a very funny book that at some points of the book you will feel sorry for Gregg because Jeff Kinney makes the characters make such a big fool of him. HA HA HA HA HA

I would recommend this book to people like myself who have a large sense of humour and that who love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. If you want to checkout or buy this book here is what it looks like.

The 39 Clues: The Maze Of Bones by Rick Riordan

The book I finished is called The 39 Clues: The Maze Of Bones. The author's name is Rick Riordan. Every page was worth reading. It was filled with mystery and action. It's about Amy and Dan Cahill(sister and brother) whose parents have died and they are living with their Grandmother. Then suddenly their Grandmother also dies. All of Amy and Dan's relatives come to the funeral and Grace(the Grandmother) wrote in her will, that there would be a contest where there would be clues all around the world and only one team would succeed. They could either accept the challenge or take the 1,000,000 dollars which was under each one of their chairs. Of course, Amy and Dan accepted the challenge(I would have gone for the 1,000,000 dollars). They had a babysitter called Nellie who was also going with them around the world to find clues. All their relatives would do anything to win the contest. Even if it meant hurting other relatives. That is only the beginning. Little did they know that their journeys would take them to Paris, Italy and many more places; but I won't spoil the rest. You just need to read this book to find out what happens next.

I would rate this book 5 stars because it has the 2 genres I like: action and mystery. This book was very good and the next book was even better. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fast pace action and mystery books. Like I said, EVERY PAGE IS WORTH READING.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

   Artemis Fowl

I recently finished Artemis Fowl, a book about a 12-year old millionaire who seeks to find out the ancient race known as Fairies. He Manages to capture a LEPrecon(Lower Elements Police Reconnoissance) Officer, Holly short.Holly Is a Elf-Fairy who was the first female to join the LEP.At the beginning of the story, Holly is in conversation with LEPrecon Commander, Julius Root.In the middle of the conversation an officer calls in Reporting a rogue Bull Troll.the commander assigns Holly to the task of neutralizing the troll before it was spotted by humans.Holly fails and the troll injures her, as she had not done "The Ritual" to replenish her magic.A Retrieval team came and took care of the situation while commander Julius Orders Holly to do the Ritual by the next few nights.
Artemis and his loyal bodyguard Domovoi Butler are ready at the Ritual site with a Neutralizing
Rifle. They shoot and capture the unshielded Fairy.Artemis hopes to bargain with the Fairies to get some of their fairy gold.

I felt that the most of the main elements of a Science Fiction-Action were present.I felt that there was a good level of intensity and action.Artemis must make decisions fast and so must the fairies. The book shows that kind of Blind attack feel as both sides have a secret plan. The book was a little too fast though so that kind of makes it hard to follow for some readers.

4/5              Sci-fi/action lover           9-16

Mekhi's Book Review: Maze Runner

The Maze Runner
James Dashner

When I read this book I was immediately stuck to it! It is about a boy who finds himself in a dark elevator and has forgotten who he is. Later on he settles in to a community called the Glade with lots of other teenage boys. But soon Thomas realizes something. Glade is an encampment of a bizarre and terrible maze with loads of horrors within it. With Thomas's strange urge to become a runner and to explore the maze and try to find a way out at it's own risks, things change in Glade and unexpected things are happening. As the boys try to find a way out nearly getting themselves killed Thomas is somehow bringing good luck to the group. Also he recognizes the maze inside out. As a girl popped up in Glade one message is clear, things are about to change. I would defiantly give this book a ton of stars and recommend it to all the mystery people out there.

Harry Potter By J.K. Rowling

My book review is about Harry Potter by J.K ROWLING. I chose this book because it one of my favorite books. This book is about magical school with some good witches. The main character is Harry Potter. He wants to take revenge on someone who killed his parents when he was young. Do you think the revenge would come true or not? In my opinion this book is a wonderful book. It hooks the reader from the start by great details. Also I think this book has lots of details in each page.

If I would want to recommend this book to someone I would recommend it to story lovers and fantasy lovers, also I would want to recommend it to people who do not like or does not read fantasy.
