Matilda by Roald Dahl

Matilda is a book which is kind of fantasy and also realistic fiction. Matilda is about a five year old girl called Matilda Wormwood, she lives with her brother and her parents, who don't really care about her, in fact they seem to almost hate her, Matilda loves to read but her parents don't approve, they’d prefer if she was just to watch television. A bit later on in the book Matilda starts school, her teacher, Miss. Honey is soon to find out that she is a Maths and English prodigy but the evil headteacher, Miss. Trunchbull, doesn’t believe her.

I think that this book is good because really fun to read, I think this because it uses interesting words and phrases and also it has some unexpected turns.

I rate this book 4.7 stars because it is very good but It would be better if it were shorter.

Middle school (how I survived Bullies,Broccoli and snake hill) by: James Patterson

My Summary: Rafe is going to summer camp except it isn’t a really summer camp, because it is more like a school. He sleeps in the Muskrat cabin, which is the lamest cabin, because everybody who sleeps in the Muskrat cabin gets bullied by Doolin (who’s is the biggest baddest bully EVER). But Rafe eminently becomes friends with everybody in the cabin.

There are two big mysteries in this book: (1) Legend. Why is he so quiet all the time and why is everybody afraid of him? (2)Norman, one of Rafe’s really good friends. Why is he in this camp he is way too smart to be?

My Opinion and reasons: I really like this book because it is a bit mysteries and really fun to read. It gives all kind of idea for what to do if you ever get bullied by really bad bullies and they just don’t know when enough is enough.

My Rating/Recommendation: If 10 was the BEST BOOK EVER and 0 was the WORST BOOK EVER I would give this book 7 ½ . This book would be perfect for people who get bullied or just started Middle school or people who loves reading realistic fiction and a lot of fun things.

Marshmallow Skye by Cathy Cassidy

My Summary: A girl called Skye is so annoyed that her sister is better at things than her. She is sick of being rated second best under her twin sister, Summer. Skye loves vintage clothes. When her mum and her boyfriend clean out the house they find some vintage clothes from a deceased relative called Clara Travers. In her dreams she keeps finding a boy called Finch and she is trying to find out if he and Clara Travers are connected somehow. Will she find out who Finch is? Who Clara Travers is? How they are connected?

My Opinion and reasons: I really liked this book. How the relationship between Summer and Sky begins to fade and then begins to get better. It is brilliant book.

My Rating/Recommendation: I would give this book a 10/10. I would recommend this book to people who like a little mystery, conflicts, and realistic fiction.

The One is the Middle is the Green kangaroo Judy Blume

My Summary:

The boy didn’t have a friend so he want to play with brother and  sister but there have a friend.At school Freddy ask to go to the play. Then Freddy went to the theater on the stage and then performed the play!!!

My Opinion and reasons:

I like this story because boy try to play so that is very interesting.

My Rating/Recommendation:

I will give 5/5 stars because this book is very interesting.     

Moon Bear by Gill Lewis

My Summary:  This book is about a boy named Tam, who is part of a native Laotian tribe. Soon after he and his friend Noy try to steal a bear cub from the den of a moon bear, his tribe is forced to move out of the jungle and closer to the city, Tam’s father is working in a field one day when a hidden bomb from the Vietnam War blows up. His father is killed, and Tam is sent into the city to make money for his mother and sisters. When he sees how the bears are treated at the bear farm he works at, he wants to put an end to the cruelty. What will happen?

My Opinion and reasons:  My opinion of this book is that it was a very interesting story. Hearing how the bears are treated and how the forest is ripped down after Tam’s tribe left is really sad, but how Tam cares for the bears is heartwarming.

My Rating/Recommendation:  I rate this book 10 out of 10! During some parts of the story, I felt like I wanted to jump into the book and help the characters.

Cherry Crush By Cathy Cassidy

My Summary: A girl called Cherry moves from Glasgow to Somerset. Her dad met someone so Cherry and her dad went to go live with her in Somerset. Everyone welcomes her all the sisters. Except one sister Honey she is very moody and mean and doesn't give Cherry a chance. Cherry is adjusting and finding it hard. Cherry’s dad is in the chocolate business and she and her new family will help to make a chocolate festival. With all new truffles. Will Honey ever like Cherry or will she hate her forever? Read the book to find out.

My Opinion and reasons: The book was very interesting. Especially the conflicts between Honey and Cherry. You can’t even put the book down. It is a very good book.

My Rating/Recommendation: I would give it a 10/10. If you are someone who likes realistic fiction this is the book for you!

Finally by Wendy Mass

This book is about a girl named Rory who lives in Willow Falls, she is soon to 

turn 12. There is a lot of thing she will be able to do when she turns 12, she can’t wait for it to happen. There are things she will be able to do but that won’t always fit her personality. But in Willow Falls, Angelina D’Angelo has a thing about birthdays...

I think this book is interesting because it means that there are things you can do at a certain age, but others you will never be able to do.

I rate this book 3.5 out of  5 stars because I think it was good but not awesome. I liked it but it was less funny and had less suspense than the first book of this series.

Diary of wimpy kid-dog days by Jeff Kinney

My Summary:In this book a kid named Greg who is a middle schooler, he gets into a lots of trouble and being not good but he solves it in funny way.

My Opinion and reasons:I choose this book because It is fun besides every other wimpy kid and it also looks like a comic book so I like it

My Rating/Recommendation:I rate this book as 110/100 because I liked it so much and it is fun! I recommend this book to people who like comic because this is not a comic but as fun as comic.

White Dolphin by Gill Lewis

My Summary:   This book is about a girl named Kara who lives in a little fishing village in England. The beginning of the book is when it has been exactly one year since her mother disappeared in the Solomon Islands. She had put a dredging ban on the local reef, but some of the people in the village want the ban lifted. Now she finds an injured dolphin calf on the beach... She and her new friend Felix have to stop them, or the local dolphin pod will perish.

My Opinion and reasons:   My opinion of this book is that it was lovely! The characters’ feelings sometimes made you feel the same way. The descriptions of the dolphins make visualizing really easy.

My Rating/Recommendation:   I would rate this book 9 out of 10. I would recommend it to anyone who loves animals, sailing, and is for protecting nature.

Sweet Honey By Cathy Cassidy

My Summary: A girl called Honey who lives in England got bad grade in her old school. She moves to Australia with her dad. She lives with her dad and his girlfriend Emma. She finds friends in her new school Tara and Bennie. Also a boy at the beach. That boy said she will friend her on spiderweb (social media website) and she thought she found him but turns out it was a hacker and he or she is hacking it putting personal stuff on it. Who is the hacker? Is it one of her friends? You will have to read the book to find out.

My Opinion and reasons: This book was very interesting. It is one of those books I just could not put down. It was very exciting to know who the hacker was. I also enjoyed looking how much Honey had changed between England and Australia.

Wonder By R.C Palacio

The book was about a kid who had a face that was deformed and kids kept bullying him. He was lonely because it was his first time in the school. This book continues on how the kid named August gets through the grade without getting beaten down by the bullies. Will he overcome his fears in that school? Will he make it through the year?

One reason I liked this book is because the author did parts from different characters views and perspectives. That also really helped me because that showed that the bullies were actually pretty kind.

I would rate this a 5 out of 5 because I think the author really spent time trying to edit it. The plot also was good and didn’t go off topic. I would recommend this book to 4th- 5th Graders.

The two brothers in this book go to a hotel and find a bomb under a car that explodes and kills someone and the brothers try to find the criminal.
I liked this book because of the cars in it and because the boys work undercover and there is lots of action.

My Rating/Recommendation: 110 out of 10. This book is awesome. I recommend this book to boys who like cops, chases and cars.

11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass

I really liked this book because it’s the story of a boy and a girl who are born on the same day and are best friends. But on their 10th birthday, Leo ( the boy ) is talking with his friends and Amanda overhears his friends telling him not to be friends with her and Leo says yes. Amanda just leaves the party because she is mad at him. One year passes. When they were little, a woman had talked to their parents about celebrating their birthday every year together. But since their fight, they haven’t talked. This year, they aren’t celebrating it together. On their birthday, they have an okay day.  When Amanda goes to sleep, the next day is again her birthday and so on.

I liked this book because it tells you that you are stronger with your friend than alone and together you can solve out a problem.

I give this book a 6 out of 5 stars because I couldn’t let it go! I needed to see what happened and I enjoyed the suspense. I recommend this book to everybody who likes suspense and adventure.

Think this book is very good because we don’t know what will happen and we can learn about baseball little bit.

3 out of 5 or 3/5 stars....I recommend somebody who likes baseball.I like baseball because we can’t predict what will happen.Also we can learn about baseball little bit.

It is about a girl named Jamie who is in 6th grade,she goes through lots of trouble with her friends.

she has a best friend named Isabella, and an enemy named Angeline.in chapter 2 stinker Jamie's dog and Sticky buns Angeline's dog have pups witch bring them closer together and Jamie wants a puppy but her mom says no.But in the middle of the book Isabella and Jamie start to fit and  Isabelle is secretly friends with Angeline.Soon later Jamie discovers it…

Will they all be friends or all be enemies and will Jaime get a puppy.

My opinion is that it is a great book but only sees what she sees in her diary so a lot of it is fiction,like:how she thought that people who make quizzes are geniuses.

   I rate the book ⅗ stars and I think is for people who like drama and funny stories.
                

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

My Summary:

I read that Black Beauty was a good looking colt when he was born. When he was broken in he was taken to a good place, They treated him very well. In the story Black Beauty has some really rough times, but if you want to know more you have to read the book.    :-)  

My Opinion and reasons

I think this book is very fun and exciting to read because the author gives a lot of feeling  and really gets the reader into the story. A lot of things happen and you can learn about a lot that has happened in the past EX.Did you know how horrible and cruel old fashion was to animals?

My Rating/Recommendation

I recommend this book to adventure lovers and horse lovers, I get this book 5/5 stars. This book is probable for people between 10-18  

         

Diary of a Wimpy Kid By Jeff Kinney

The main characters are Greg and Rowley who are best friends. They are 12 year olds who just went into middle school and this book is about the adventures that happen while they are trying many different things. Both of them always want to do something. It is always Gregg’s idea but at the end of every situation Rowley gets all the fame for it. there are many different adventures happening the book that they have together.

In my opinion it is a very good book because it always has a problem and the problem never goes how he wants it. It is mysterious to see what goes wrong at the end of the problem. How the characters express themselves is very good.

I recommend this book for people who like comedy and the adventures of young boys. I give this book 4.8/5 stars.

This book is about a boy named Hugo.His father died and after his uncle adopted him.Soon after Hugo's uncle adopted him he left.So now he lives alone in a train station.Hugo is used to stealing.Before his father died he gave Hugo a mechanical man.Hugo steals from a man who owns a toy shop.Everyday Hugo steals from him.One day he gets caught.All Hugo wanted to do is to fix the mechanical man.Will he be able to fix the mechanical man without his father’s help?Read to see what happens next.

This is a good book because it keeps you wanting to read more.It is also very breathtaking book.I think this a great book because it not only talks about whats happening now but what happened in the past.

I would recommend this book to mystery and thriller lovers.

I would give it a ⅘ stars.

This book would be great for 10-12 years old.

The Secret Garden By Frances Hodgson Burnett

My Summary: The book is about a little girl who was born in India but she is actually American. Her parents died by a very severe flu and now she stays in a orphanage. On a bright sunny day she saw a door a door that was so magical and so real she thought to herself  should I go in? Read to know more.

My Opinion and reasons: I think this book was extremely good book because It looks interesting from even the cover. and also I think That it is a good book because it can improve my reading level it is an very challenging book for me.

My Rating/Recommendation: I recommend this book for mystery lovers and visualizers you can visualize a lot of thoughts in this book. I give this book 5/5 stars. And people who like friendship.

I give this book 5 /5 stars because I can understand very clearly and it is little funny.
