Matilda by Roald Dahl

Matilda is a book which is kind of fantasy and also realistic fiction. Matilda is about a five year old girl called Matilda Wormwood, she lives with her brother and her parents, who don't really care about her, in fact they seem to almost hate her, Matilda loves to read but her parents don't approve, they’d prefer if she was just to watch television. A bit later on in the book Matilda starts school, her teacher, Miss. Honey is soon to find out that she is a Maths and English prodigy but the evil headteacher, Miss. Trunchbull, doesn’t believe her.

I think that this book is good because really fun to read, I think this because it uses interesting words and phrases and also it has some unexpected turns.

I rate this book 4.7 stars because it is very good but It would be better if it were shorter.

Book review: Lord of the Ring II: The Two towers by J.R.R Tolkien

This book is one of the series of the Lord of the Ring. In this book, the main character, Frodo, who is the weird creature called hobbit. (a mixture of rabbit and human.) One day, his uncle, Bilbo told him that he has a ring which could control all the ring of the rulers in the middle earth (where the story took place), and give it to his nephew. But, the evil lord called Sauron was trying to get the ring, so, Frodo decided to destroy the ring once and for all. With his loyal friends and human warrior named Aragon, and a strange wizard named Gandalf, he took journey to the mountain to destroy the ring. But, he faces a danger….. an orcs, terrified creatures of the middle earth. Can Frodo successfully finish his mission? “Can he save his world?”

I think this is well-written books with lots of crafts. Like, during this book, there’s lot of alliteration and liming words which made the book more interesting. Also, the author gave a lot of details to describe each characters in this story.

I give 4 out of 5 stars to this book because, even though this book was interesting and very tense, it was tough and hard for me. I recommend you to read this book when your reading level is higher than V. I recommend this book to the fantasy lovers and historians because the setting of this book is similar to the European medieval age.  

The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl

This book is about one girl who creates chaos and teaches people morals by accident. This one girl makes the teacher into a cat, and one family who likes hunting ducks, and their lives changed to ducks’ lives and what could be the ducks doing? And what they are learning? Read it and find out.

I think this book is good because it has good morals, which is “don’t massacre the animals”.

I recommend this books for people who like to kill animals and this book is easy to follow. I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Edward Tulane by Baglame

      

This book is about a china doll that was loved for many years but suddenly got trashed and fallen down to the sea.

Then that doll travels around the world and starts to learn about the feelings that he didn’t have before.  

I think that this book is a good book because it really teaches us our all of the feelings that has gone away because of phone, internet.....

And also this book is full of how the character gets disappointed about himself and trying his best to not disappoint himself again by mistakes.

I want to give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Especially to the  people who don’t really care when their favorite or important person is near you. And this book teaches you how to care the important people that you like.  

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE by C.S.Lewis

Long ago,there was 4 kids called Peter,Susan,Lucy,Edmund. They were playing hide-and-seek. And Lucy found magic door in wardrobe, and she told to Peter,  Susan, and Edmund.So they went to magic door, and immediately it changed to Winter.  They know there are 2 world between Narnia and real world. In Narnia they are fighting with witch’s army. Aslan is king of Narnia but he was killed by witch because they lost first battle. But god gives him new life. If you want to know what happen next, read the book then you will know it.

My opinion Peter,Susan,Lucy, and Edmund are  brave enough then anyone else because they could die at battles, but they fought with wicked witch. So they can save Narnia world and many faun’s and animals lives. Also I learned I have to be brave like Peter and think positive.

I will give this book 5/5 and I would like to recommend  who like adventures, actions, and fantasy.

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank. Baum

In this story, a girl named Dorothy arrives in a strange town by the strong mysterious cyclone. When she and her pet, Toto got out of their house to see where they were, they could see the strange unknown world.

Their tough adventure begun by looking for the Great Oz, who had the greatest power to ask for help to go back to Kansas. Dorothy and Toto met 3 armies; Scarecrow, Tin man and the lion along the way. They each wanted a brain, a heart and the courage. But during journey to Great Oz, they met lots of obstacles distracted by Wicked Witch of the West. Will they ever be able to see Oz and put through their wishes?

My Opinion and reasons: I enjoyed reading this book because it’s full of excitements and mysterious adventures. My Rating / Recommendation: I recommend this book to everyone who enjoy reading fantasy and adventure stories. Rate: 3.8 out of 5

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

My Summary:

The House of Hades is in a series called Heros of olympus, it is the 4th book of the series and it is about 6 demigods and one satyr and two of their friends, Percy and Annabeth, who are in tartarus, the place where monsters are born, are heading to the doors of deaths, which allows monsters to go to the mortal world,  to close it. If they don't make it than the world will be invaded by giants who will keep re-spawning and the world will end.
My Opinion and reasons: I really like this book because because it is the one with the most action and suspense for me and there are a lot of fun surprises. My Rating/Recommendation: I recommend this book to people who like fantasy and Greek mythology and action and surprises.

The Quest for Paradise by Geronimo Stilton

My Summary:

This story is about the Heart-Finders Club who will be find the Heart of Happiness. But the queen of the witch want the Heart of Happiness because she doesn't want have Happiness in the world. So, she capture the club, so they will can't find the Heart. Then, the club succeed to go, but a long adventure will continue.

My Opinion and reasons:

I enjoyed reading this story because when you read this story the night, you do good dreams. The character I liked most is Geronimo Stilton because is almost funny and he’s the hero of all the story. My favorite part is when they are on the Land of Sweet and on the Land of Toys.

My Rating/Recommendation:

I recommend this book to the students who likes fantasy because there is a lot of fantasy in this book.

The legend of zelda and the four sword-by Akira Himekawa

My Summary:In this book there is a boy named Link who was a knight and he worked alone and one day the princess zelda was kidnapped and Link tries to s

ave her but he can’t do with his power so he makes themselves 4 parts with different emotion. He meets variety of enemy and…….. if you want to find more you can read this book!

My Opinion and reasons:my opinion is that I think it will be good if Link is in himself and meet variety of partners and enemy because it feels weird when people is divided into 4 parts.

My Rating/Recommendation:I rate this book as 100/100. I recommend this book to people who like short fantasy.

I rated this as 100/100 because it was kind of funny.

Eragon - Book trailer and review

Book Review:

Eragon is the first book in the series called Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. A farm boy named Eragon finds a blue stone while he was hunting, for him it was a big achievement because, he thought that he could use it to buy food for his family.  What he did not know is that this egg was a dragon egg. Eragon lived in Alagaesia. Alagaesia was ruled by the evil king Galbatorix, he was a rider who turned evil. He killed all the dragons and their riders so he could be the best.There were 3 eggs left, one of them got stolen by a good elf named Arya, since Durza found her, he weakened her powers so she transported it to the Spine(forest where Eragon hunts) and that was where Eragon found the egg. Soon Galbatorix discovers that there is a new dragon rider (Eragon). When Eragon goes on his journey, Galbatorix orders Durza (The Shade) to send monsters and the Ra'zac- Monsters that you can't beat in a fight to kill Eragon. Eragon's whole life turns around. Eragon needs to go to The Varden to get help to finally beat Galbatorix and to unite the kingdoms so that no one would ever become like Galbatorix. But Eragon comes to know that there are 2 other dragons, so he and his dragon Saphira decide they should rescue them. Before they hatch and Galbatorix does something to the dragons. Soon a huge battle comes against the Urgals(Galbatorix's minions) and Durza, thankfully Eragon reaches the Varden by then but Brom (Eragon's trainer and good friend) dies... Eragon fights his best to get revenge for the death of his Uncle and Brom.

Will Eragon get his revenge? Will he accept who he is? Will Eragon, Saphira and the Varden win the battle.

Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda(Jennifer Rowe)

This book is Deltora Quest and it is from Emily Rodda (Jennifer Rowe).The story is about, the boy who live in one city, goes to a long journey to get the seven jewels and fix the magical belt. In this story, the main character name Leaf who thought he was strong in the first time goes to a journey and learn lots things and his mind gets more kinder and calmer. I like this book because the battles scene is awesome and it is easy to read an the story and the characters are good. If you like actions or fantasy books, I will recommend you to read this book. It is so awesome and fun book!!!!( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ

The Serpents Shadow by Rick Riordan

I finished a book called The Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan. This book is based on a lot of Egyptian mythology and is fantasy. This is the third book in the series called Kane Chronicles. In this book there is a villain who is Apophis and Carter and Sadie(siblings) who are Egyptian magicians have to stop him from destroying the world. Carter is a combat magician and Sadie is an elemental magician. They are on a journey to find a way to stop Apophis and realize that they can use his shadow against him. This book was very interesting and had a lot of suspense. I really like this series because I feel I could make a connection with Sadie and it had a very interesting plot!

                       Summary
     A few weeks ago I finished a book called Magyk by Angie Sage.It is the first book in the entire Septimus Heap series.Magyk is about...well Magyk, Wizardry with a different name.The book is a Fantasy/Conspiracy genre story about a castle that is corrupted by the Supreme Custodian(Not the cleaning custodian)and the Custodian army(I know It sounds ridiculous an armed force carrying brooms and mops but it is not that custodian).The castle has no king but it does have a queen.The queen in Magyk is shot dead but her newborn is saved by the young Extra-Ordinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand.Ten years later the Custodians Hatch a new Evil plot to kill the Queenling before she gains her right to the throne.What will happen next?Read to find out!

      Magyk is very well written and I feel that the plot was laid out perfectly,In the sense that it feels like any time there is a slight lack of information the next chapter fills you in on it...But Slowly.The book also has a cool fonts for Magykal things like spells and potions,this makes them stand out amongst the rest of the text and makes the spell/item feel real by distinguishing it from other things/actions.The book also has a balance of action and explanation so the reader is always filled in and is never bored.I found this book so enjoyable it always left me saying "one more page..."

Alfie and his father go fishing one day,
they suddenly hear a mysterious scream from St.Helens.They go there and find a girl lying in the corner of an old fireplace with  an old teddy bear and an old torn blanket.
They take the girl home to their Island.
Of course there is s big fuss about the mysterious girl,but she can only say one word "Lucy"her conditions are bad but the family starts loving her.
But the Villagers think Lucy is a german 
spy,who will attack them,they throw stones trough the windows in her bedroom and tease her.Lucy is quiet and quiet.

Will she ever be able to tell the family how she came to St.Helens and where her family is?

Percy Jackson sea of the monsters- By: Rick Riordan

 I recently finished a book called Percy Jackson sea of the monsters. It is a bout Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson going on an adventure to save the tree in the half blood camp, and to save Grover, who is in great danger right now. Grover keeps on appearing in Percy's dreams, telling him to come, and save him fast. He goes to school, like normal, and figures out that Tyson, the only friend he has in the school. It is the last day of school, and a problems come by........... Annabeth comes to help, they go to camp (half blood camp) together, including Tyson, (who is also one of the sons of Poseidon, one of the good cyclops) After the notice that the camp is in trouble, they 3 go to save Grover, and the camp. Even though they aren't aloud to go anywhere, the refused to listen. Luke's dad, Hermes comes and helps them pack. He gives them what they would need, and asks them to please help him by talking to Luke. As always, they fail, a LOT, but they will just NOT give up!! Even after they notice that they've been seperated into 3 groups. (Annabeth & Percy, Clarrise, and Tyson) Will they survive? Will they be able to save the camp, and/or Grover? Will they ever meet each other again? Those are some questions for you. :P If you want to figure it out, READ THE BOOK!!! It is also in a movie, even though it's kind of different, it still makes sense, and can connect to the actual book. This book is obviously (?) available in the class library, and the middle school library. This book is recommended to you, yourself, whoever you care! If you like mystery, fantasy, realistic fiction, adventure, and action, you will really like this book. ENJOY!! (If you haven't already..) 
I would rate this book....  4 star!! :D
