Welcome to our Book Blog for Grade 6! We will be using this blog to share our love of reading and to write book reviews that will help us in our book recommendations to others. Not only will be write traditional reviews, but we will also find other creative ways to share what we are reading in class. We are all authors on this blog.

Let's get started!

Your first assignment is to choose a favorite book that you have read this year in Grade 6 and write a review.

You will find a picture of the front cover of your book and post it along with your review.

Your review should include:

• title
• author
• genre
• a brief summary of the story line (no spoilers, please!)  A good sentence stem is: This book is about (someone) who (problem). 
• Your rating of the book on a scale of 1 to 5 (review the scale below)

5 Stars- Awesome book! I loved it!

4 Stars- It was very good and I would recommend it!

3 Stars- It was good and I would recommend it to people who might like it.

2 Stars- It was ok. I enjoyed reading it, but probably wouldn't recommend it.

1 Star-  Hmmm, I should probably do a review of another book.

In addition to the book review, you should also add a paragraph with a reflection of your book and what it meant to you. Here are some possible questions you might consider when writing your paragraph.

• Why did you choose this book?
• Did you make any connections to this book (text to self/text to text)? 
• What appeals to you most about this author/genre/series?
• What type of reader would enjoy this book?
• Did this book remind you of any other books?

These are just some of the questions you might consider when writing. You may have other ideas so please share those in the comments section below.
